What is Malicious Redirection Fraud?

Malicious redirection fraud is when a victim intends to make a payment to a legitimate payee, but a criminal intervenes to convince the victim to redirect the payment to a bank account they control instead. Scams such as these are a type of Authorised Push Payment (APP) Fraud and are also sometimes known as Payment Diversion fraud.
